Indoor Air Quality Assessment

STATS provides independent monitoring and consultancy services offering a full range of professional solutions including the investigation and evaluation of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), indoor air testing and monitoring, sample collection, laboratory analysis and air flow investigations.

Our indoor air quality assessment services are delivered by competent professionals who have more than 10 years of experience. We combine the latest high performance indoor air testing and analysis equipment, computer modelling and laboratory analysis techniques to help identify air quality and other environmental issues to improve the quality of internal workplace environments, and the health and well-being of building occupants.

Expert Indoor Air Testing Solutions

Our expert indoor air quality assessment, indoor air testing and monitoring solutions include:

Indoor Air Quality Assessments

Comprehensive indoor air quality assessments, air testing and environmental monitoring solutions to many international standards like BREEAM Health & Wellbeing Hea 02 – Indoor Air Quality and Singapore Standards, SS554:2016.

Laboratory Testing

Laboratory analysis for bacteria, moulds and fungi. Our laboratory is capable of identifying the bacteria and fungi to the genus level.

Gas & Particle analysis

Gas analysis and particle counts for carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, formaldehyde, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), dust and pollen.

Physical Factors

Expert review of physical environmental parameters including mechanical ventilation and air conditioning systems, air velocity, temperature and relative humidity.

Air Flows

Air flow investigations and computer modelling.

Odour Measurement

The level of odour concentration is measured using a dynamic olfactometer which is internationally recognized, with EN13725 and ISO17025 calibration certificates. The olfactometer is capable of measuring the strength of the odour in a room and thereby eliminating the need to “guess” how strong the odour strength is. The measurement of odour strength can be a good verification on the abatement capability of any odour elimination devices.

Investigation of poor air quality

STATS is capable of investigating the cause of poor air quality. Poor air quality may arise due to moisture ingress, choice of building materials and poor workmanship/maintenance. The choice of wrong materials can lead to poor quality.

Factors Affecting Air Quality

Indoor air quality is a measure now used by many organisations to evaluate the suitability of indoor environments and how this impacts on the health, comfort and productivity of their employees and other building occupants.
The quality of the air inside a building can be influenced by a whole range of factors and as importantly, how these interact with each other.

Such factors can include reduced internal air flows, poorly managed ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC), the accumulation of unwanted gases, unpleasant odours, microbial contaminants, the presence of fine particulates, and fluctuations in relative humidity and temperature.

  • Indoor pollutants, contaminants & odours
  • External pollutants, contaminants and odours
  • Ventilation & Air Conditioning Equipment
  • Internal air flows
  • Temperature
  • Humidity

Indoor Air Quality Assessment & Air Testing Services

We offer a comprehensive range of specialist environmental air quality services designed to evaluate, test and ultimately identify the most appropriate strategy for managing your indoor air quality issues.

A detailed indoor air quality evaluation as detailed in SS554:2016 will be provided to gauge occupants perceptions of the indoor air quality.
The entire process in an indoor air quality assessment would include the collection, testing and analysis of air samples, monitoring occupant exposure to pollutants, swabbing and evaluation of samples from internal surfaces.
An examination of the physical parameters affecting the internal environment would also be conducted and this would involve a review of the condition and performance of existing ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC), temperature and humidity, particulate levels and computer modelling of the internal air flows.

Once a detailed air quality assessment is complete it is then possible to identify ways to cleanse the air more readily, reduce pollutant levels and improve the overall quality of the working environment for building occupants.

The Benefits of a Cleaner, Healthier Environment

  • The healthier the environment in your office, school or other facility is, the healthier the people in that environment will be.
  • It is only by identifying the risks and causes of poor air quality that real improvements can be achieved.
  • Reduce absenteeism, workplace illness, lethargy and instances of poor work performance by paying closer attention to air quality now.
  • Investing in a professional air quality assessment is like investing in the health of your business and your employees.
